Area 4C – notes

‘Alex Blackadder’ was labelled ‘Alexander Black’, a variety described as a dark crimson formal double. I have concluded it is ‘Alex Blackadder’ and relabelled it.

‘Martha Brice’ (4C-003) There was a plant labelled ‘Martha Bryce’ in 1E but I have concluded that this one is correct and the other one something else. ‘Martha Brice’ is an American variety.

‘Metallica’ is barely opening its flowers in 2017, but otherwise matches its description.

‘Prince Frederick William’ matches its description in spite of the register implying that the name was misapplied to ‘Princess Frederick William’ in Europe.
