Area 1K – notes

‘Bonnie Marie’ (1K-007) has been ring-barked and seems very unlikely to survive. (Update Feb 2018; has been cut back to side shoot below damage.)

‘Donnan’s Dream’ (1K-013) was hit by a falling tree Jan 2018. Badly damaged but should survive.

‘Feast’s Perfection’ (1K-014) is described as a bicolor; delicate pink with obscure crimson stripes. This seems unlikely to be right. It appears identical to the plant under the same name at 1F-010.

‘Fire’n’Ice’ (1K-015) (C.japonica x C.oleifera) This appears to be the same as the plant at 1F-011, and is probably wrong in that the description says it is a bright red semi-double to rose form.

‘Gladys Wannamaker’ (1K-016) does not seem to be a success here or elsewhere in the collection. The blooms become spoiled and browned almost as soon as the buds start to open.

‘Hawaii’, like ‘Gladys Wannamaker’ does not seem to be a success here or elsewhere in the collection. The blooms become spoiled and browned almost as soon as the buds start to open and often fail to open properly. Later blooms have a better chance.
