This area, known as Gordon’s Glen, is at the bottom of the formal gardens, overlooking the Orangery and its formal garden. It is a steep and rocky slope which was cleared of laurel and planted with camellias in early 2016. It is in two parts, the upper section viewed from the path from the steps at the back of the formal garden, the lower alongside the gardeners shed to the east of the formal garden.
