Hello Jim Like your camellia pics thanks. I’m a long-time camellia person in NZ, trying to identify heritage camellias around the country, which isn’t easy. Can be difficult finding pics of them, and not many people around the world are familiar with these old varieties now. The descriptions given in old catalogues are very vague and often contradictory. From the 21 old catalogues I have, (1861 to 1915) there were at least 225 varieties offered in NZ prior to 1915.
Do you mind if l send you a few pics to see if you can help with identification?
